As my 2 year old granddaughter would say, OH MYYYY GAWSH! I also know why my sister in law said that she locked herself in the bathroom for the final 30 pages of this book!
I will begin by telling you that this took me awhile to get through. There were many times when I just wanted to put the book down and walk away, however, "The Secret" kept me coming back. We learn very quickly what the secret is. The story is how we got to the secret.
You will never in a million years figure this one out until everything is revealed in the last 20% of the book. The characters really come to life then and we learn why they did the things that they did and when they did them.
The book moves between present day and the end of WWII and early 1960's. It is a fantastic web of mystery and suspense. I heartily recommend this to anyone that likes a mystery with a bit of a love story thrown in for good measure.
